WSI ITC 2025 | 8000 Series & RF Recorder Demo

At ITC 2025, Wideband Systems Inc. (WSI) highlighted its latest generation of high-performance telemetry recorders, showcasing the DRS8500X and DRS9300X-MB platforms; advanced, modular systems engineered to meet the evolving needs of ground station and flight test operations. Gary Marker, Senior Applications Engineer for Wideband Systems, guided attendees through the DRS8500X Data Recorder, the company’s largest chassis (5U), featuring seven open Interface Board (IFB) slots, dual removable disk banks, and a removable Windows OS on flash media. The system also incorporates a full front-panel touchscreen interface, enabling direct operation as well as control through a KVM, or remote control via TCP/IP connection, for flexible test setups. These features are included standard across all our DRS8000 & DRS9000 Series recorders. Gary also introduced the DRS9300X-MB Multi-Band RF Recorder, a powerful system offering the same reliability and user interface as the DRS8500X but optimized for Direct RF Recording of raw signals collected at the Antenna. With the ability to capture two (2) Channels across a wide RF Spectrum (100MHz-6GHz) and Selectable Bandwidth (50/100/200/220MHz) per channel, the DRS9300X-MB is a critical mainstay for every ground station architecture. Both recorders are fully Windows 11 compatible, allowing operators to easily transition between configurations while maintaining common workflows. Following the same philosophy of commonality, every DRS8000/DRS9000 Series Recorder utilizes the same System Board design. For the DRS8000 Series Recorders, a scalable and field replaceable repository of 27 (and counting) Interface Board (IFB) options provides flexible, high-performance signal handling for a wide range of telemetry applications. From modular architecture to mission-ready reliability, Wideband Systems’ DRS8000 Series and DRS9000 Series recorders underscore WSI’s commitment to precision telemetry recording and range modernization. Each ITC station was paired with an interactive touchscreen display designed to give attendees a deeper look into the technologies behind every demo. These touchscreens provided a guided walk-through of each system’s components, showcased top products, and highlighted key advantages from the company. Explore the same content for yourself.
