Delta Digital Video’s
Model 7825R H.265 Video Encoder is built to deliver high-quality mission-critical video in some of the harshest environments. This compact, rugged unit supports real-time, low-latency encoding of full motion video for airborne, ground-mobile, or any harsh environment where bandwidth is tight, and reliability is non-negotiable.
With support for H.265/HEVC and H.264/AVC, resolutions up to 4Kp60, dual video inputs, and optional ultra-low-latency JPEG-XS, the 7825R gives system designers a next-gen encoder that still plays nicely with legacy infrastructures while feeding standards-compliant streams into downstream PED systems.
The 7825R is a dual-channel encoder designed to stream two full-motion video signals over IP or PCM links in a compact, 17
3in package, all while drawing under 10W for SWaP-constrained platforms.
Key Capabilities for Modern ISR Video
Efficient Compression and Multi-Format Support
The encoder supports standards-based
H.265/HEVC and H.264/HEVC, with bitrates from 64 Kbps to 25 Mbps per channel and configurable compression parameters. It handles resolutions up to 2160p30/60 as well as 1080p, 720p, 1080i, 480i, and 576i over SDI and composite inputs, making it a strong fit for mixed fleets that blend legacy cameras, HD sensors, and new UHD payloads.
Low Latency and Optional JPEG-XS
For
applications that demand even lower latency while preserving visual quality, the unit offers an optional ultra low-latency JPEG-XS mode for visually lossless compression.
This combination is ideal for:
- Live sensor feeds to ground stations
- Man-in-the-loop video for manned ISR platforms
- Time-critical decision support and targeting
Network, Metadata, and Secure Streaming
The 7825R is designed to drop cleanly into modern IP and traditional telemetry architectures. It supports:
- Transport stream over Ethernet or RS-422 (PCM)
- Streaming using RTSP, RTP/UDP, TS/UDP, and SRT, with unicast or multicast options
- A PCM (RS-422) synchronous serial interface for legacy datalinks
For metadata and timing, the encoder supports
MISB/STANAG-compliant handling, KLV metadata over SDI VANC, serial, or Ethernet, and time synchronization via GPS, PTP, or NTP so video, metadata, and time stay aligned for PED systems and mission replay.
In contested or sensitive environments,
AES encryption and
SRT help maintain video integrity and confidentiality from platform to ground.
Rugged Design and Easy Integration
The
7825R is housed in a compact, rugged enclosure qualified for harsh environments. It is designed to meet demanding military environmental and EMI/EMC requirements while remaining small, lightweight, and low power (under 10W). This makes it an excellent choice for that still need high-performance encoding.
Applications and Use Cases
The Model 7825R is well suited for a wide range of airborne, ground, and maritime ISR and mission video applications, including:
- Airborne ISR for manned aircraft, helicopters, and UAVs
- Ground vehicles and tactical shelters requiring rugged, low-power encoders
- Shipboard surveillance and mission systems
- Test range and flight test video, including situational awareness and instrumentation feeds
Wherever video must be moved efficiently over constrained links, the
7825R delivers the right balance of performance, size, and power.
