Ampex ITC 2025 | Flight Test Solutions Demo

At ITC 2025, Ampex Data Systems showcased its latest lineup of secure, high-performance recording and edge-processing technologies designed for mission-critical flight test and mission environments.

In this demo, Andre LiRosi, Business Development Manager for Ampex’s Flight Test division, introduced the miniRv2 Chapter 10 Recorder, a compact yet fully customizable solution built with a 100 % U.S.-made controlled supply chain. Supporting flexible I/O modules, the miniRv2 adapts to any data type or requirement, whether for airborne data acquisition, ground playback, or integrated telemetry operations.

Ampex also highlighted the SmartDock, which enables rapid mission turnaround while maintaining Data-at-Rest (DAR) encryption. During the demo, Andre detailed how operators insert encryption keys, authenticate the removable media module (RMM), and securely offload mission data, ensuring protection throughout every stage of the data lifecycle.

The TS640v2 Recorder was featured as Ampex’s next-generation high-speed recording platform, engineered for harsh environments where reliability, throughput, and modularity are paramount. It delivers expanded data rates, solid-state storage, and seamless compatibility within the Ampex ecosystem for both ground and flight test operations.

Also on display was the TRS-X Rackmount Recorder, which combines extreme performance and scalable storage for large-volume data missions. The system features a hot-swappable RMM, allowing operators to quickly remove and replace storage modules, enhancing efficiency and uptime during test cycle.

All of these recorders are operated through ACCE (Ampex Common Compute Environment), a unified software interface that lets users configure, monitor, and manage every Ampex system from a single platform. Any unique flight test standard format that is implemented in ACCE is available in all Ampex hardware solutions.

Together, these systems deliver Data-at-Rest (DAR) encryption, edge-level processing, and seamless interoperability with existing telemetry infrastructure.

From modular flexibility to secure, scalable performance, Ampex continues to define the standard for trusted data capture, storage, and analysis across aerospace, defense, and flight-test missions.

Each ITC station was paired with an interactive touchscreen display designed to give attendees a deeper look into the technologies behind every demo. These touchscreens provided a guided walk-through of each system’s components, showcased top products, and highlighted key advantages from the company.
